Half-Life 2 will almost always win over Episode Two sense EP2 is an expansion basicly. Like he says above, you can't compare them fairly, it's just not possible. Full length retail game sequel vs the expansions to that game. Episode 2 had kind of a boss battle and a much more memorable ending.
Half-Life: Source is filled with glitches since it was a shit port to Source. Just play the original first then if you want try Source. Just get Half Life, the best way to experience the original game is by playing the original. Half Life Source has too many glitches. Half Life is the superior choice.

Think of the episodes as shorter, more refined HL2. Episode 2 certainly lives up to being almost HL2's length IIRC (Maybe a little less than half). Episode 1 gets you maybe 5 hours, Episode 2 around 20.

Episode Two is the absolute peak of the Half-Life series and one of the best shooters ever made. I say this even with its short length in mind. It plays better than the best parts of the original HL2 (which, as a whole, was already incredible enough) and advances the story better than any other Half-Life game. t5lJH.
